CT Scan
At Cudworth Dental Surgery we have on site our own CT scan machine which is cutting edge technology and allows us to take a 3D image of your jaw. It is now the gold standard assessment tool in terms of assessment for suitability for dental implants. The CT scan image gives us full access to the exact anatomy and shape of your mouth so that we can plan precisely suitability for implants and the exact measurements involved leaving nothing to chance.
Bone Grafting
It is sometimes necessary to add some extra bone to your jaw in places where ideally we would like to place a dental implant, but there is not enough of your own bone present in that part of your jaw. The most common outcome is that we place some animal bone around your own bone/dental implant at the time of surgery. (Other options are available should you not wish to have animal bone). Occasionally we have to place the bone first and then return to place the implant several months later.
